⚔️ Power and Passion
After the assassination of Julius Caesar, Rome is ruled by three men, including the powerful general Mark Antony.
However, Antony is deeply involved in a passionate love affair with Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt. He spends much of his time with her in luxury, neglecting his duties in Rome.

Back in Rome, tensions rise with Octavius Caesar (later Augustus), Antony’s political rival.

But his heart remains with Cleopatra.

Antony soon abandons Octavia and returns to Cleopatra in Egypt. This enrages Octavius and leads to a major conflict between the two leaders.

War breaks out, culminating in the famous Battle of Actium.
During the battle:
- Cleopatra’s fleet unexpectedly retreats
- Antony follows her, abandoning the fight
This decision leads to a crushing defeat for Antony.
🩸 Downfall and Tragedy
After the defeat:
- Antony’s power collapses
- Octavius advances to capture Egypt
Believing Cleopatra is dead, Antony falls into despair and kills himself.
🐍 Cleopatra’s Final Act
Cleopatra is captured but refuses to be paraded in Rome as a prisoner.
She chooses death:
- Traditionally, she allows an asp (poisonous snake) to bite her
She dies, reuniting with Antony in death.
